The Role

As a casual Kitchen Hand your role is more than just preparing meals, it’s about bringing warmth and care to our residents through food. By keeping the kitchen organised and supporting meal preparation, you’ll help create moments of comfort and joy that truly makes it feel like home.

Shift Times Available

Flexible casual shifts across Monday to Sunday

• Morning Shifts: 0700 – 1500
• Afternoon Shifts:  1500 – 1900

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and plate food, serve and clear away meals in line with food preparation schedules.
• Maintain the food preparation and serving areas to state hygiene standards.
• Maintain appropriate resident interactions in line with the organizational values.
• Consider resident lifestyles and personal choice.
• Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others.
• Collect all temperature and cleaning records for the week and place in managers basket for checking and signing.
• Record any dietary changes on master print out.
• Check on stock requirements, e.g. bread, milk, OJ, yoghurt and change as necessary.
• As required replenish shopping supplies which are specific and not currently available from usual supplier.

About You

You may come form a hotel, hospitality, restaurant or commercial kitchen background and be looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference every day.

While kitchen experience is valuable, just as important is your passion for customer service and ability to build genuine connections with people. In this role, you’ll move beyond traditional hospitality and become part of a close-knit community, helping create moments of joy, comfort and connection for our residents.

Essential Criteria:

• Evidence of Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
• Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks
• NDIS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Proven organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as required
• Willingness to attend 2 day paid induction at our Rivervale site
