The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide effective and accurate industrial relations advice to the People and Culture team and the wider business, under the guidance of the Head of Human Resources.
The Industrial Relations Specialist will support the development and maintenance of Amana Living’s industrial relations framework including policy, procedure and process development and compliance with legislation, modern awards and our enterprise agreements. They will play an active role in bargaining and drafting Amana Living’s enterprise agreements. This role is a part-time role of 3 days per week.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert advice on complex IR and ER matters across the organisation
- Lead enterprise agreement negotiations and consultations with unions, employee representatives and internal stakeholders.
- Interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation to guide management actions and decisions.
- Undertake policy review and development of relevant employee related policies to ensure legal compliance.
- Provide advocacy or representation at the Fair Work Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Stay informed of changes in employment legislation, trends and cases in order to provide expertise on matters of employment legislation
- Develop and deliver IR/HR training programs to build leadership capability
- Provide industrial and employees relations advice on internal key projects, including acquisitions and divestments.
What You’ll Have
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing employee and industrial relations matters
- Strong analytic and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail with proven time management and organisational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team and autonomously
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the aged care environment is desirable but not essential
- Current Flu vaccination as per Amana Living policy
- National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months)
- Successful completion of pre-medical form and reference checks
- Current Western Australian driver’s license (C class) with no restrictions
