The Training Lead oversees the training team, ensuring the trainers are supported, provided with opportunities for professional development, and are updated with the latest industry standards, ‘2025 Standards for RTOs’. The Training Lead is responsible for scheduling trainers and rooms efficiently to meet training needs, handling any complaints from trainers and students, and to contribute to financial sustainability of ALTI. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager ALTI.
What You'll Do
Leadership and Team Management
- Provide leadership and be a positive role model to the Training Team
- Recruit, retain, motivate, coach and mentor staff to build expertise, capability and collaboration
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership by ensuring every interaction is a positive experience for staff, internal stakeholders and clients
- Attend trainer led classes and workplace observations, and utilise coaching approach to provide feedback to trainers, so as to maintain a quality standard of training.
Ensure RTO Compliance
- Recruit trainers who have the relevant skills and knowledge to train ALTI’s curriculum
- Roster trainers appropriately, matching the training courses with their competencies, knowledge and skill.
- Ensure trainers are regularly kept abreast by industry updates and maintain up-to-date technical, vocational and industry knowledge as determined by relevant accrediting bodies and funding organisation.
- Communicate and implement any changes to regulatory requirements with training team
Training
- Provides direct training to students
- Provide feedback to Training Compliance and Curriculum Lead to improve on quality of training products
- Address all student/trainer complaints in line with the complaint resolution process, and to escalate to Operations Manager ALTI if necessary
Resource allocation
- Monitor and act to address agreed Key Performance indicators
- Ensure trainer and training venue resources are allocated appropriately and efficiently
What You'll Need
- Extensive experience in the RTO/VET sector, with a strong understanding of compliance, training delivery, and student support frameworks.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire, guide, and support teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Strategic resource management skills, including the effective allocation of staff and training resources to meet operational and learner needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Sound risk awareness, with the ability to identify, assess, and escalate organisational risks in line with established policies and procedures.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement while adhering to the organisation’s values and compliance requirements.
Essential Criteria
- Working with Children Clearance (or willing to obtain at the interview stage)
- Flu vaccination & Covid Vaccination as per Amana Living policies
- Ability to obtain a national police clearance (within 6 months)
- Successful completion of pre-employment form and reference checks
