THE ROLE

The Development Manager
 plays a pivotal role in leading large-scale property development projects from conception to completion. This includes managing all aspects of the development cycle—brief preparation, design, stakeholder engagement, planning, procurement, construction, settlements, and working closely with marketing, sales and customer service. The role is instrumental in maximising the financial return of Amana Living’s property assets through strategic and commercially sound development practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee land transactions and coordinate settlement processes
  • Manage regulatory approvals and project feasibility
  • Collaborate on project funding and present recommendations to the Board
  • Lead design development, incorporating safety and environmental considerations
  • Act as Client Representative during construction phases
  • Ensure timely project close-out and defect management
  • Promote a customer-first culture throughout the development lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, contracts, and Amana Living policies
  • Lead consultants and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Uphold workplace safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement

 

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in property development, particularly within the aged care or related sectors. You will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes that align with Amana Living’s mission and values.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale development projects
  • Strong understanding of construction, planning, and property legislation
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial acumen and financial analysis capabilities
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Empathy and respect for older individuals


Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Property, Architecture, Commerce, Planning, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in property development
  • National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
  • Evidence of COVID-19 and current Flu vaccinations
  • Completion of pre-employment health and reference checks
  • C Class Driver’s Licence
