About the role

The key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for the financial integrity of the Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows
  • Ensuring all GL and Sub-Ledger postings are approved as per current processes and adhere to separation of duties
  • Preparing all applicable taxation returns and related matters for ALI and related entities
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts for both operational and strategic requirements
  • Maintaining oversight of Fixed Asset / capital works / work in progress accounting and reconciliation
  • Preparing and reviewing assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ensures no unreconciled items greater than 1 month in age
  • Assisting in the completion of End of month as well as year-end financial close
  • Preparation of annual financial statements including ensuring that all applicable supporting notes are completed
  • Providing support to the Management Accounting team in connection with the annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning process and assists in projects where required
  • Providing support to the Project Management office for implementation of software changes as required

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree)
  • CA / CPA qualified or Australia recognised equivalent
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and skills demonstrated through prior experience in a similar role
  • Experience in end of month and year end financial reporting including liaison with auditors
  • Experience in financial systems implementation desirable but not mandatory
  • Advanced computer skills (excel, word and database management)
  • Aged care experience in a similar capacity is preferred but not mandatory
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal
  • Possess a National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months) or willing to obtain one
  • Proof of current influenza and Covid-19 vaccinations as per Amana Living policies
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical
