The Role

Traineeships for Aged Care Community Support Workers are now available our Home Care Program. In this excellent opportunity, successful candidates get paid to study and work giving candidates hands on experience on the role.

Successful candidates are employed on a part-time contract as a Community Support Worker with a minimum of 30 hours per fortnight, simultaneously studying and working, obtaining a Certificate in Aged Care after 12-months.

Our Community Support Workers have the rewarding role of caring for elderly people in their homes, enabling their overall independence.

Key responsibilities

  • Personal care (showering, dressing, personal hygiene), meal preparation and domestic duties
  • Social support, shopping assistance, transport and pet care
  • Additional responsibilities can include fitting and removal of pressure stockings, respite and assisting with medication

We have several permanent opportunities based either north or south of the river in the Perth metropolitan area. Some sample rosters include:

  • Day Shifts : 7am - 12 noon, 8am - 4pm, 9am - 2pm, 
  • Afternoon shifts : 11.30am - 7.30pm, 1pm - 8pm, 2pm - 8pm
  • Weekend shifts can be a combination of both and will include Thursday and Friday weekday shifts.

ABOUT YOU

To be a successful Community Support Worker, you must have a kind nature and be interested in pursuing a career in aged care. You will be intrinsically aligned to ensuring the way you perform your role, positively impacting those we serve every day.

Essential Criteria

  • A caring nature with a passion for aged care
  • Acceptable National Police Clearance less than 6 months old
  • Evidence of up-to-date flu vaccination and Covid vaccines
  • Current driver's licence 
  • Access to a reliable registered motor vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
  • Pass pre-employment physical assessment and reference checks
  • Available to attend a paid compulsory 2-week induction/ training to help you get started at our training institute in Rivervale Mon-Fri 8am - 4.30pm.
  • Not already hold a Cert III/Cert IV qualifications in Aged care
  • Be able to work a minimum of 30 hours a fortnight
  • Be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or comply with the relevant visa requirements. Please note student visa 500 are not eligible for the traineeship program, but can apply for a community support worker role without traineeship

Trainees can receive up to $5,000 from the Australian Apprenticeships program. This payment is to help offset the costs of everyday living. *Eligibility apply* CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual support (Home and Community)
