Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist fellow OTA staff to conduct resident activities and outings correctly and safely
  • Ensure records, statistics and progress notes are completed as required by the Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with mobilising and transferring residents – moving from place to place and position to position
  • Meet residents’ personal care needs, safety and comfort, whilst driving satisfactory completion of planned programs

About You:

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant you will plan and organise staff to carry out therapeutic activities under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Manager and or Registered Nurse.

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate III or IV in Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Minimum 2 years’ demonstrated experience working as an OTA in the aged care sector
  • Current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principals and practices
  • Ability to relate to older people with empathy and understanding
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven success working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated skills prioritising workload and managing time effectively
  • Valid Police Clearance less than 6 months old (or ability to obtain at interview stage)
  • NDIS Screening (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
  • Successful completion of pre employment medical and reference checks
  • Evidence of Flu (2024) and COVID vaccinations (including Booster if eligible)
  • Availability to attend a paid 2-day induction (Monday – Friday) at our Rivervale Training Institute
