The Role
The role of the Occupational Therapy Assistant is to provide therapeutic group and individual programs and perform delegated client treatment plans under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
This role is offered on a Permanent Part time basis working 72.5 hours per fortnight.
Roster is being offered as per below:
Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday (1000-1800) Friday (0900-1400)
Week 2:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday (1000-1800)
Key responsibilities:
- Prepares and assists fellow OTA staff to conduct resident activities and outings correctly and safely.
- Assists and ensures the records, statistics and progress notes are completed as required by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assists with mobilising and transferring residents – moving from place to place and position to position.
- Assists with residents’ personal care needs to the extent necessary to ensure resident safely, comfort and satisfactory completion of planned programs.
About you
The successful candidate will have current knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices within health/aged care environment. Will be able to show exceptional organisational skills and the ability to complete busy workloads and respond to changing priorities.
Essential Criteria:
- Evidence of COVID-19 and Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
- Must be willing to attend a 2-day Induction based at our Amana Living Training
- Completion of Certificate III or Certificate IV of Occupational Therapy Assistant (Desirable)
- Experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (Desirable)
- Previous experience in aged care (Desirable)
