The Position

Based in the Southern suburbs, your role as a Kitchenhand is more than just preparing meals, it’s about bringing warmth and care to our residents through food. By keeping the kitchen organized and supporting meal preparation, you’ll help create moments of comfort and joy that truly makes it feel like home. This is a permanent part-time role offering up to 75 hours per fortnight.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and plate food, serve and clear away meals in line with food preparation schedules.
  • Maintain the food preparation and serving areas to state hygiene standards.
  • Maintain appropriate resident interactions in line with the organizational values.
  • Consider resident lifestyles and personal choice.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others.
  • Collect all temperature and cleaning records for the week and place in managers basket for checking and signing.
  • Record any dietary changes on master print out.
  • Check on stock requirements, e.g. bread, milk, OJ, yoghurt and change as necessary.
  • As required replenish shopping supplies which are specific and not currently available from usual supplier.

 

About the role

As a member of the Hospitality Kitchen Permanent Pool SOR, flexibility is essential to ensure we meet the clinical needs across various sites. Flexibility arrangement refers to a staffing model where employees are part of a centralized pool of workers who can be assigned to various locations within a cluster of sites SOR. These arrangements typically provide greater flexibility for both employees and employers.

  1. Your rostered shift may occasionally change on the day based on operational needs.
  2. No Fixed Site Assignment: Employees are not permanently based at a single site. Instead, they are deployed to different locations within a predefined group of sites as needed.
  3. You may be required to work at different sites within your contracted hours to address clinical requirements.
  1. Expectations from Employees: Flexibility to adapt to different sites, workflows, and team dynamics. Capability to quickly integrate into new environments while maintaining productivity.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Evidence of COVID-19 and Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical and reference checks
  • NDIS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, as required
  • Willingness to attend 1 day paid induction at our Rivervale Training Institute
